The purpose of this piece is to teach veterinary students how an ovariohysterectomy (spaying) is performed on a swine. The key events of the surgery and the instruments that are used are depicted from a surgeon’s perspective. After viewing this suite of illustrations, a veterinary student will be oriented and understand the crucial aspects of the surgery in order to more effectively assist a surgeon.
